Ellie Taylor is a familiar face to UK TV audiences appearing regularly on popular comedy shows such the Mock the Week and Live at the Apollo. Last year her hit stand-up show Infidelity played at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and is set to get another outing at the upcoming Underbelly Festival at the Southbank.
Can you tell us a little about your Infidelity Show that will be on as part of the Underbelly Festival?
Its about being married and wishing I’d slept with more people. My husband is delighted.
Who is the funniest person you know who is not a professional comedian or performer?
Any of my school mates. They are consistently hilarious and have been since I met them at age 11.
What is the best thing about being a stand-up comedian?
The strange opportunities you get to do really silly things. Being my own boss. Haribo in green rooms.
What’s the weirdest comment you have had on social media?
Once a person made me into a mermaid – i.e. wrapped a photo of me around the top of a haddock and took a picture.
What is your favourite thing to do in London?
Walk through Soho on a summer’s evening. The city feels so alive, and that vibrancy gets into your bones.
Jeremy Corbyn or Teresa May?
Ellie Taylor plays Underbelly Festival on Thursday 4 May 2017.
